Most people think that all they need to do is get a little exercise and the pounds will just start falling off. Of course, there are many other variables involved as well. Yet, the propagation of misinformation still continues.

For most everyone, a casual stroll around the neighborhood pretty much sums up their exercise. Now, this in itself doesn't mean that the walk around the neighborhood represents a bad thing.
Far from it.
In fact, making sure that you get out to enjoy the weather does wonders for your attitude. Especially if it's sunny outside.
However, this type of exercise really doesn't help when it comes to fat loss.
A true fat loss exercise will push you. Exercises like sprints and intervals increase the metabolism and therefore the "after burn" effect. Think about it, if the metabolic benefits of one type of exercise outweigh the other, why wouldn't you try the method that has more bang for it's buck.
Unfortunately, most exercise experts want you to do something. After all, something is better than nothing, right?
Well, if the something has you thinking in a way that doesn't help you improve, then I'd have to say "not necessarily".
Don't fool yourself into thinking that that leisurely stroll is going to help pull the pounds off.
Make sure you push yourself when you're exercising (within limits). A stroll is just a stroll. In order to improve in life, you need to stretch yourself outside the box. Constant improvement is the key. Never be satisfied with where you are.
Your body will thank you for it later.
